Our Work
Diverse schools, talent, and communities. We provide guidance and funding to make a high-quality education more accessible for historically underserved students.
Colorado Schools Fund is supporting four new schools across the state that opened in Fall 2024.
Wildflower Montessori
In 2023, Wildflower Montessori opened its first Colorado public charter microschool in Aurora. Now, Colorado Schools Fund is supporting Wildflower Montessori to expand its existing location in Aurora and open a new microschool in Grand Valley.
The Excel Center
Operated by Goodwill Colorado, The Excel Center provides free education for adults to receive high school diplomas and industry certifications. Colorado Schools Fund partnered with The Excel Center for its August 2024 opening.
University Prep
In Commerce City, University Prep opened a Pre-K program at the Boys and Girls Club that will eventually grow into an elementary school. This school is University Prep’s third location.
James Irwin Elementary
(Canada Drive) James Irwin Charter Schools is an established network of high-performing schools serving students in grades K-12. Together with Colorado Schools Fund, James Irwin Charter Schools opened its sixth school site at its Canada Drive campus.
Excellent Schools = Great Teachers and Leaders
Colorado Schools Fund understands that any school is only as good as the leaders and teachers in the building. That is why we are partnering with Colorado’s Opportunity Now workforce initiative to grow talent pipelines.
Over the next two years this teacher talent initiative will result in:
110 high school students interested in pursuing a career in teaching dual-enrolled in college credit-earning courses
70+ paraprofessionals and non-instructional staff enrolled in bachelor’s programs on their way to becoming classroom teachers
75+ enrolled in one-year teacher residency programs with the option to work towards a master’s degree and/or special education licensure
